Fruitful and Rooted
Sep 10, 2024It’s been almost five years since Cynthia and I daydreamed about creating a support network for women who feel stuck- in overwhelm, exhaustion, aimlessness, joylessness, etc. Having felt stuck ourselves on many occasions, we recognized the importance of consistent encouragement, mentorship, accountability, and community for making lasting changes to our habits and mindsets.
As someone who has struggled with overwhelm and aimlessness for much of my life, immersing myself in regular excercises and conversations all centered around wellness of the body, mind, and soul has been nothing short of transformative. This Filled With Less ministry has evolved as Cynthia and I have evolved, and as our members have evolved, tackling issues such as clutter, boundaries, procrastination/avoidance, hormones, goal setting, fatigue, despondency, difficult life transitions, hobbies, and stress management, just to name a few.
It is our deepest conviction that self-care is an act of love and service when it energizes us to develop our unique God-given talents and show up for others bearing the light and peace of Christ; we cannot thrive on empty. It is never too late to experience renewal and, in so doing, brighten our own little corner of the world.
As we look ahead at the new intentional living tools, classes, and opportunities, we are excited to create, we feel ready to update our aesthetic and logo. It’s invigorating to mix things up and make things beautiful! Did we want new colors? A new graphic? We explored a few options but kept returning to that image of a tree. It just feels so true to our mission.
It was our very talented and insightful admin assistant who not only freshened up our new logo but articulated why the tree fits so well with our vision. She said, “I like the branches to symbolize the connection of body, mind and soul. The leaves are for growth, and the roots for grounding, balance, faith, foundation, habits etc. I added circular elements to represent the cycle of life.”
We were created for fruitfulness, in times of both ease and struggle. But to prevent barrenness we must stay rooted to our faith, and watered, fed, exposed to plenty of light. Thank you, thank you to all of you who have inspired and comforted us with your examples of resilience, growth, authenticity, and compassion. We are beyond grateful for the uplifting connections we have made and continue to make through our courses, retreats, podcasts, and membership! We are indeed stronger together!
